In this new book, Sarah writes all about food and cooking for kids ages 9 to 13. She explains how taste works, some of the science of cooking and how what we cook for dinner makes us who we are. The book also introduces readers to such topics as the history of different cuisines, the ethics of food and it offers  perhaps the most important lesson of all: how to cook from scratch.

This book is equal parts a story of the history and culture of food, a cooking manual and a blueprint for healthy eating for a new generation.

I also think it would be a great book for anyone of any age who wants some basic, easy to follow instruction for how to start cooking from scratch.
